ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jessa Bradley is a UK based sculptor whose unconventional works explore realms of childhood day dreams, nightmares and what lies in between, linking the natural world's original masterpieces and the true darkness within ones own imagination.

Utilising a multitude of metalwork skills, Bradley evokes fear and wonderment with undulating steel and variegated texture.
Her remarkable and unique style is owed to being self taught, with total freedom to create in her own way.
Unorthodox technique gives every piece its character, emotion and language.

Taking reference from fairytales, literature, film and imagination, Jessa’s work appeals to a persons inner child and plays with what it is to still look at the world and see it’s hidden beasts and charms, overlaid with adult fears and realisations.
Working from an initial line drawing to map out her armature, Jessa creates a steel network on which she bases her welds.
Coupled with a multitude of other processes across different disciplines the result is a one off bespoke piece of art.
Due to the craft aspect of her work Jessa has exhibited in many artistic blacksmithing events along side group and lone exhibitions in her local area.
Her work can be seen at her Gallery in the heart of Hampshire.

Jessa’s creative side was fostered at a young age, always drawing or making with her equally creative parents.
She did not explore 3D work until aged 15, she came across a maquette of Giacometti's ‘Walking Man’ in a Viennese art gallery.
From there she went home, entered her Father's engineering workshop and began creating pieces of her own volition.
She first exhibited aged 16 and has been an active artist ever since.
